Air service to Grenada includes:

New York (JFK):

Grantley Adams International Airport (BGI), located approximately 16 km (10 miles) from Bridgetown.

Miami (MIA):

American Airlines provides flights several times per week

Charlotte (CLT):

JetBlue operates at least one weekly flight

Atlanta (ATL):

A new weekly flight launching December 2025

Official Currency

  • The local currency is the Eastern Caribbean Dollar (EC).
  • The U.S. Dollar is widely accepted throughout the island.
  • Hotels and car rental companies accept major credit cards.
  • Traveler’s cheques are accepted across the island.
  • Banks exchange currency at the following rates:
    • EC$2.67 = US$1.00 (cash)
    • EC$2.68 = US$1.00 (traveller’s cheques)
  • Currency exchange at banks is recommended, as better rates may not be available elsewhere.

Time Zone

  • Grenada operates on Atlantic Standard Time (AST).

    • One hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time (EST)
    • Four hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

  • The official language of Grenada is English.

Grenada has a warm tropical climate with cooling trade winds.

Average Temperatures:

Range between 75°F and 85°F (24°C to 30°C).

Cooler Months:

Lowest temperatures occur between November and February.

Seasons:

Dry season: January to May

Rainy season: June to December

Climate variations may occur depending on altitude.

Overall, Grenada enjoys warm weather year-round.

Three Must-Do Experiences

The Underwater Sculpture Park:

One of Grenada’s most popular snorkeling attractions is an underwater gallery of sculptures located in the Molinere Beauséjour Marine Protected Area. Created by renowned sculptor Jason de Caires Taylor and installed in 2006, the underwater garden reflects Grenada’s culture through a variety of artistic media.
VICISSITUDES:

This sculpture consists of 26 male and female children holding hands in a circle, symbolizing the cycle of life. Positioned 5 meters below the surface, the artwork undergoes natural transformation within its underwater environment.
THE LOST CORRESPONDENT:

Hidden beneath the waves within a natural ravine, this sculpture represents the writer as a communicator lost to time. As it becomes part of the reef, it appears more discovered than displayed.

Entry Requirements for Non-U.S. Citizens

Non-U.S. citizens traveling to Grenada must meet the following requirements:

Valid Passport:

Passport must be valid for at least six months from arrival.

Visa Exemptions:

Citizens of the U.S., Canada, UK, British Commonwealth, South Korea, Japan, and most Caribbean and European countries do not require a visa for short stays.

Return or Onward Ticket:

Proof of return or onward travel is required.
