Request assistance in advance — ideally when booking your flights, look for a section called 'special assistance' or 'special service request'. Airlines recommend doing this at least 48 hours prior to your flight. If you don't request assistance in advance, you can still ask for it at the airport, however you may have to wait longer. Airlines generally recommend requesting assistance at least two hours before your scheduled departure time for domestic flights, and three hours for international flights. Once at the airport, find an assistance point or special assistance desk, request your wheelchair, and wait for your attendant. Airlines are required to provide free support, including wheelchair assistance, to get you through the airport and to your departure gate.
Liat Airlines allows service dogs to accompany passengers in the cabin, provided they meet specific requirements. Documentation: A completed U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Service Animal Air Transportation Form is required at least 48 hours before departure. The service dog must be trained to perform tasks related to the handler's disability. Airlines may require proof that the dog can relieve itself in a sanitary manner if the flight is 8 hours or longer. Service dogs must be leashed, harnessed, or tethered and must fit within the passenger's foot space.
LIAT Airlines does not offer a specific Allergy Sufferers plan. However, passengers with allergies are advised to notify the airline at least 48 hours in advance and to bring necessary medications like antihistamines and EpiPens. While airlines cannot create an allergen-free environment, they may allow pre-boarding to clean the seat and request that passengers avoid consuming allergens in the buffer zone.
If you have ten or more people traveling on the same itinerary to the same destination, LiatAir can provide a guaranteed fare for your group. Once the form is submitted, an email response will be sent within two business days with details on the quoted price and how to confirm the reservation. All quotes are subject to availability at the time of booking.
